We took a boat across lake atilan today to visit a traditional Mayan village called Santiago Atilan. Tuk tuk rides, markets, and intentional moments of reflecting on and sharing our experiences made up our day. Tomorrow is a travel day back to our home stays for an early departure on Tuesday - you won't hear from us again until the airport.
The coffee plantation....after leaving our home stay families, we travelled 5 hours towards the coast and Mexican border. We were graciously hosted by tony on his plantation that was started by his great grandfather. It was a full two days that included tours of two of his farms, horse rides, jeep rides, pool time and a traditional Guatemalan birthday celebration with firecrackers and a piƱata!
